Nicholas Bishop

Animal Behaviour & Creative Programs Manager - Zoos South Australia

Professional Bio

Nicholas has relished his work in the wildlife and conservation world for the past 25 years in Australia and overseas, with a keen focus on storysharing, behaviour, birds and free flight presentations. These have blended with his background as an actor/singer to see him working internationally in the field of Nature Theatre, supported by academic pursuits in performance arts, applied ornithology and wildlife management.

As the Animal Behaviour and Creative Programs Manager at Zoos South Australia, Nicholas supports animal training and storysharing programs at Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park, focusing on diverse approaches in technical and cultural endeavours  at both sites.
He is passionate about nature engagement and has created a unique learning approach called Storyvolution. The model supports the growth and development of Bio Bards: innovative storysharers that use the neuroscience of story to meaningfully connect people with nature and inspire conservation action.
